Abuse-SDL games -1 Abuse-SDL Utterly fantastic... but how do I get past the flying flame-thrower robots at the start of level 10? I'm completely stuck. HELP! 2001-08-23 16:52:34 0
BumpRace games -1 BumpRace I love this game! It's an addictive time sink. I would love to see a practice level added. There is also a little bug with the sticks-to-walls racer occasionally going through walls that have guns mounted on them. 2001-08-23 19:38:37 0
SMM++ games -1 SMM++ Looking at how smm++ is put together: it's got the potential to be the best mud client on any OS. Right now, it's still in the growing stages, but it's still a good client. [There are a few mud clients for windows that might be better, at the moment, but you have to pay money for them (or use them for 30 days then get locked out).] 2001-08-24 12:39:59 0
Abuse-SDL games 2328 Abuse-SDL Very nice game. Good graphics, sound, and gameplay, and the interface is pretty intuitive. Only reason I haven't given this five stars is the lack of fullscreen. The option, it does not work! 2001-08-24 15:50:22 0
Glaxium games 2328 Glaxium Okay, now this is a FINE piece of work. Great graphics, sound, and actually entertaining music! Plus, the artwork looks professionally done, and the gameplay is intuitive without being too easy. Install was pretty easy, too. Well done. 2001-08-24 20:17:50 0
Racer games -1 Racer A great game, with great graphics especially. But, the source code is not available for free development (not GPL). And that's bad! Very bad! Actually, I think that's insane. The development is stunned if we won't solve the licensing issues right now! For the time being, I won't even try to hassle with this. It's a waste of time, because any day, I mean any day, the author could make the game commercial. Just try TORCS http://torcs.free.fr/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/torcs/ TORCS is an Open Source (!) racing simulator, licensed under GNU General Public License (!). This is how it should be! Dear author of Racer, try to realize it. 2001-08-25 06:19:58 0

Racer games -1 Racer Each and everyone of you, here comes the bottom line: BOYCOTT RACER UNTIL IT HAS BEEN GPL'ED! The Problem: Racer, albeit being a great game, has one really big "bug". Let me explain: Racer's license doesn't give the developers enough rights. The source code cannot be distributed within commercial products (take a Linux distribution as an example). Users don't have rights to modify it, release it, etc. This is very ankward for a free software and frightens the *real* open source developers away. Also, the source code of Racer is very badly organized. In fact, it is a total mess. Being a free one-man-product, Racer doesn't and won't follow the standards. It utilizes a slightly non-free sound library, Fmod, and follows its own, often very ankward ways in releasing binaries, source code, extra cars and tracks, etc. The Solution: As Richard Stallman wrote: "Proprietary software developers have the advantage of money; free software developers need to make advantages for each other." This is the idea. But how to make advantage for other softwareThis is the idea. But how to make advantage for other software developers? Easy, you release the program under GNU General Public License (GNU GPL for short). Look http://www.gnu.org for more information. In no time after the game is GPL'ed, we will see active development, probably considered in sourceforge.net, and new versions of this great game will popup almost every week. Until this is done, see http://torcs.free.fr or http://sourceforge.net/projects/torcs 2001-08-25 10:13:20 0
