| 3864 | XKobo | games | -1 | XKobo | If I ever meet the guy who wrote this game, I'm going to beat the crap out of him. This game is great, but it sucks as well - I've never wanted to break my computer so bad before. Is there anyway to beat level 50? Please advise. | 2001-07-16 13:53:45 | 0 |

| 3869 | NetHack Falcon's Eye | games | 4877 | NetHack Falcon's Eye |
Good fun, nethack style. And the graphics are very nice. There are two flaws that I've noticed though:

First the game busy waits on the keyboard and mouse so expect 100% CPU usage.
Second, the game often loses savegames

I've tried inserting a sleep down in the polling routine to reduce CPU burn and save a bit of battery life on the laptop, but it is tricky to get it right. Several commands seem to check the keyboard state more than once, and so ignore clicks if you sleep very much. About 1000us after 100000 polls is the most I can do.
I haven't found the problem yet with the savegames, so it could be a problem with my laptop (it might be something to do with some time checks it does on the savegames and the executable.) | 2001-07-16 22:14:47 | 0 |
