In an effort to avoid doing real work this afternoon, I slapped together a poll system for the Tome. It's on the left side of this page, below the New and Updated lists. Please holler if you break it, and feel free to suggest ideas for future polls. |

Curt Olson, the main dude behind the Flight Gear Flight Simulator, has released a new build of USA scenery for the simulator that fixes several problems that were present in the previous version. The scenery is available for download here (Minnesota) and here (California), but beware, it's over 500 megabytes. If you'd rather receive the data on a CD-ROM instead, go check out this page.

BZ:Apparently Nintendo hasn't tried to squish this project yet, as they did with UltraHLE and Snes9x. I wonder if it's just below their radar, or if the NES is considered "old" technology that they don't have to protect.

Description: A Super Nintendo Entertainment System emulator

Changelog:
Snes9x is back online with a new host. The authors have concluded that Nintendo is blowing smoke and doesn't have a firm legal position from which to harass them. It warms my heart whenever a giant evil corporation fails to frighten an individual away from whatever he's doing. Good luck, guys!

I saw at slashdot that Sierra is running a poll that asks In what direction do you think Sierra Studios should expand their gaming expertise?. One of the possible answers is "Linux Games", and it's far and wide the winning answer so far, thanks no doubt, to the slashdot effect. Hopefully Sierra'll take heed though. Supreme Being John Carmack had some positive things to say about RedHat 6.0, Matrox and open source today. I'm not gonna tell you what he said, though. Go read it yourself. |
