| 3424 | Crystals of Holy | games | -1 | Crystals of Holy | I really enjoyed playing it... it was actually quite fun. I wish the battles were graphical though. I like the FFIV graphics and all, but they were really meant for a lower res like 320x240. When you do update your graphics, make them bigger and better! ;-) Good luck on finishing it; it was very stable for me. SDL rules! | 2001-04-08 13:10:14 | 0 |
| 3425 | SMM++ | games | 4665 | SMM++ | The best X11 Linux client I've ever seen (I've tried 5-6 so far). Some would argue that tintin and its various derivates are more linux-like and they certainly do have more appeal from the historic viewpoint. However, me being a part of this progressive bunch that believes the future of interfaces is in windows, not in shells, I have to choose this client over any other one. All the features I was used to have on zMUD back in the day when I still used Windows; none of those annoying effects you get when you change the theme in Gnome and all of a sudden the output to screen is choppy (yeah, I have an old machine). True, it's a bit slow on start-up, but I'm not going to be as spoiled as to complain about it -- it's only slow once, when you start it. It works afterwards just marvelously. Scripting is cool, auto-mapping I hardly use, but it can work with some work; the minor objection would be chapter on action system in the man pages directory -- it could use a bit more examples and it could be re-written; this is where the strength of the mud is, it's a shame if the developer doesn't capitalize on this. | 2001-04-08 20:52:59 | 0 |
