Description: A simple (so far) Blackjack game.
It compiles and runs on all the
machines I've tested it on. I plan an
X11 and PalmOS port. |

John Carmack has updated his .plan with some info about the next Q3Test release (sometime next week), and a bunch of details about adding SMP (multi-processor) support in Q3. Of which platforms will benefit from the SMP code, he says:
I am going to shake this out with the Windows (NT) code first, but it should definately make its way to the linux port eventually.

He also mentions that (unsupported) BeOS and SGI-Irix ports of Q3 should surface eventually. |

I was just checking out the still-warm-from-development Linux.com site, and saw that in the user preferences section you've got the option of selecting an attractive Game Tome icon for display on all your Linux.com pages. The pleasant yellow/blue color scheme blends nicely with the Linux.com decor. I highly recommend it.

While I'm at it, allow me to remind you of the stylish yet practical Happypenguin channel at My.Netscape.com and the concise, informative Happypenguin Slashdot box. With all these resources, you can ensure you're never more than a click away from good old-fashioned Game Tome lovin'. |

Jeremy Blackman posted an update to the Lithtech server Linux port list last night. He said the port is complete and up to date, but that a serious bug has surfaced in both the Windows and Linux versions. He's going to spend a couple of days looking at the bug and if a solution isn't immediately forthcoming, he says he'll probably do a release.

In case you haven't been paying attention: the Lithtech engine was used in the Windows 3D action games Shogo and Blood II. Jeremy Blackman is working on a Linux port of the server for this engine. |

There are some beautiful new screenshots of the upcoming freeware space shooter Parsec. Parsec is being developed for the Linux, MacOS, DOS and Win32 platforms. It'll support 3D acceleration through Glide and OpenGL. This project looks very promising. Saw this at Linuxgames.com. |
