These are a sort of on-the-fly teams.
team scores are kept separately instead of just being calculated for display. Cannons count to this score as well.
new option: teamShareScore. If on, each player has a score equal to teamscore/number of members.
there is a new talk command: /ally.
two new options: allowAlliances and announceAlliances.
Older clients don't receive team scores (the only difference yet are the cannon scores) or information about alliances (in the score packets).
Added an option to automatically kick players who have been paused too long.
Changed the way fuel drain from shot hits is calculated.
All items at the end-of-round reset removed.
Two new options: selfKillScoreMult and unownedKillScoreMult
Added another option: selfDestructScoreMult.
The IP address of the primary meta server was changed because it was moved to a new machine.
The -messagesToStdout client option now also prints internally generated messages.
The +cloakedShield server option now also works in shield enabled maps.
Fixed a bug which caused paused players to become unpaused at end of round reset.
Objects from paused players are now inactive.
A smarter map update algorithm implemented in the server.
The default score font was reduced from 15 to 13.
Robots no longer try to go after players who aren't in playing mode.
Lots of bugfixes.
| XPilot 4.5.4 | updated | XPilot |

| 2957 | 4 | 2002-09-27 16:07:53 |
As expected, there was a status update today on the Neverwinter Nights Linux client page. There are no new screenshots today but the following news:

[Sept 27 2002] We're continuing to work on the sound code (we're using OpenAL). Currently, all the sounds are playing (with the exception of streaming sounds), but there are still a few issues with them, such as the positioning of the 3D sounds not working quite right as they don't seem to be fading/panning properly. Support for playing streaming sounds will be the next thing to be added in.

Good to hear they're using OpenAL, hope they'll be finishing the remaining issues soon.
| NWN Weekly update | default | |
