Yadex is a Doom/Doom II/Heretic level (wad) editor for X. |
Yadex is a Doom level (wad) editor for Unix systems running X, including Linux. It supports Doom alpha, Doom beta, Doom, Ultimate Doom, Final Doom, Doom II, Heretic and also, in a more or less limited way, Hexen and Strife. It is available under the terms of the GPL.<p>
Yadex is descended from DEU 5.21. Therefore, as you might expect, it's a rather low-level editor that requires you to take care of a lot of detail but on the flip side allows you to control very precisely what you are doing. In addition, it has many advanced functions that DEU didn't have, to make certain tedious tasks easy. |

Yamagi Quake II is an enhanced client for id Software's legendary Quake II. |
<p>Yamagi Quake II is an enhanced client for id Software's Quake II. The main focus is an unchanged single player experience like back in 1997, thus the gameplay and the graphics are unaltered. Over 1000 bugs were fixed and an extensive code audit done, making Yamagi Quake II one of the most solid Quake II implementations available. Other than most ports Yamagi Quake II is full 64 bit clean, so it works perfectly on modern amd64 processors and processors and operating systems. Yamagi Quake II is supported on FreeBSD and Linux, but porting to other POSIX compliant systems should be easy. |

Tool for changing nVidia-specific settings |
<p>YanC or "Yet another nV Configurator" is a small tool which you can use to change ATI/nVidia-specific settings (almost) as easily as with the Windows-drivers. You can edit the settings for the AGP-Support, the Cursor Shadow, the Logo, for Digital Vibrance Control and, of course, TwinView.<br />
Furthermore, YanC offers the possibility to run your OpenGL-applications (e.g. games) with your favourite settings for antialiasing, anisotropic texture filtering and vsync to blank without difficult command-line operations. If you're intimidated by setting environment variables or editing your XF86Config file, give this tool a try.
<p>
YanC42 is a rewrite in Java with 0.0.9 being the last version.
</p>
Development has stopped because of lack of time and because ATI and nVidia have improved their configuration tools as well, so there is not much need for YanC anymore. |

Another version of Arkanoid, Breakout, etc. |
A GPL SDL implementation of the classic game Arkanoid, in which a ball bounces on a map that has a number of bricks. As the ball hits bricks, they are removed from the map. If a balll eaves the bottom of the screen, the ball is lost, and the player looses a life. To avoid this, the player can control a paddle on which the ball bounces. Each time a brick is removed, the player is awarded points. The aim of the game is to score the most point.
Yanoid has been designed to be extensible and flexible, allowing the game to be extended in novel ways. It is currently quite playable and enjoyable. While the main engine is written in C++, Yanoid uses python scripts to create maps, objects, etc. |

Sokoban alike game with level editor. |
Yasminuroban is a sokoban alike game written in DHTML (JavaScript, CSS and HTML). It runs in any operating system with a JavaScript compatible web browser.
If you accept Java and Python apps, that runs on any operating system (not only under Linux) and needs a console, why don't accept JavaScript games?
It's the first game written in JavaScript with a level editor.
You can select level, undo and redo all moves, create your own levels and play with them, etc.
Uses keyboard to play :)
Available in two languages: english and spanish. |

Client for the YAWn! Wolfenstein player tracking service |
YAWn! Linux is a client for the YAWn! service which keeps track of the names used by Return to Castle Wolfenstein players.<br>
Players are tracked by their unique PunkBuster GUID, thus players can not hide behind a fake name to play reckless or purposely misbehave.<br>
YAWn! adds a console command to Return to Castle Wolfenstein that lists all players like PunkBuster does, but additionally displaying the other names this player used before, or for players that use YAWn! themselves, the name they registered under and a taunt message they chose.

A Tetris(tm) clone on terminal. |
yetris is Tetris(tm) on the console. It has colors and highscore, along with
many features found on modern Tetris(tm) implementations.
It's made with C and runs on (most) Linux terminals.
Some of it's features:
* Colored textual interface - playable on the console.
* Hold and up to 5 next pieces.
* Combo and back-to-back sequences
* Scoring system compliant to the (conjectured) Tetris(tm) Guideline.
For now it attempts to be as close as any modern Tetris(tm) game as possible.
It lacks some expected features but it's on active development.
Also, the source code is clean and commented, allowing much better
understanding and easing feature-implementation. |
