LBreakout | games | 4074 | LBreakout | I had that SegFault in the same situation, too. But that was on my old computer with hardware problems (Win: no CD-ROM, Linux: no sound) where I used the older gcc 2.72.x. On my new computer using gcc 2.95.x this problem did not occur any longer. So I thought it was a problem with my hardware but maybe it has something to do with the gcc or SDL or it is a bug in LBreakout. Unfortunately, I don't have your e-mail adress so I hope you read this and write me about your gcc version, your SDL version and if you have otherwise problems (concerning your computer) so that I know that this is definitely a bug for some reason not occuring at me. | 2000-09-28 05:41:14 | 0
Chromium B.S.U. | games | -1 | Chromium B.S.U. | (#1 again) I know what I'm doing, and I've done everything correctly, and I get 1 FPS with this game. Everything is in the right place, I'm using the "accelerated" drivers, and I know they're being used because if I rename them my X won't load. Why is it whenever something doesn't work in linux, everyone assumes it is the user's fault? What the hell else can I do to get this working at a reasonable speed. You assholes. | 2000-09-28 10:20:21 | 0

Chromium B.S.U. | games | -1 | Chromium B.S.U. | A vertical scrolling arcade shooter that requires hardware acceleration makes me feel a bit uneasy. Should have spent more time on efficiency for such a game to make it run faster. | 2000-09-28 15:26:07 | 0
Dusk | games | -1 | Dusk | This is an <u>AWSOME</u> game. You can be either a human or an elf and explore this graphical world. It's easily navicable either by using the text commands (north, south), the arrow keys, or even the mouse to click on the area you want to go. It's got some cool enemies, spells, and weapons, and it runs just fine. The main page include some helpful links on directions, commands, and some storyline and background. If you're interested in the source hehas it set up in an easy and straightforward way. I will definitely be becoming a Dusk regular. | 2000-09-28 17:06:28 | 0
LBreakout | games | 3722 | LBreakout | I have installed libsdl-1.1.15 and when I try to make the new version of this game I get the following error:- sdl.o: In function `Sdl_SetClipRgn': /home/guyh/tmp/lbreakout/lbreakout/sdl.c:510: undefined reference to `SDL_SetClipping' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[2]: *** [lbreakout] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/guyh/tmp/lbreakout/lbreakout' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/guyh/tmp/lbreakout' make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2 Whats it mean? | 2000-09-28 17:57:30 | 0

Dusk | games | 4079 | Dusk | This is a wonderful mud. The loading time is good, and it runs seemlessly on my modest PI 133. The world is well designed and puts the easier mobs closer to the beggining. Read the signs! They are very helpful. Also make sure to read the help page and the commands page (there is a link to them on the home page and off the actual MUD page) as there are some usefull keyboard shortcuts. The source code is helpfully commented and you can download 2 versions of the client and the server (the released version and the beta). Although is still small and some features have not yet been finished there is great promise. Get a character now and start leveling you'll be happy you did when the really cool features come out. I give it five stars because I'll be coming back to play this often. | 2000-09-28 18:08:17 | 0
Matanza | games | -1 | Matanza | A neat concept. I'm not sure I'd say it rocks, and in fact I never figured out how to quit except for dumping my telnet session (which coredumped the server after I'd done it a few times.) The ships look a little vague, and movement is somewhat choppy. Still, real-time telnet games have some possibilities. | 2000-09-28 20:52:17 | 0
