State of Mind | games | -1 | State of Mind | I haven't logged in but I give this demo 5 1/2 stars. I've impressed more Windows people with SoM than with any other Linux software (except maybe the Q3:Arena demo). However, the latest version dies under XFree86 4.01. I've notified the author, but has anyone got SoM running under the latest XFree86 ? | 2000-09-17 11:32:45 | 0
Dreams Eternal | games | 1858 | Dreams Eternal | uhhhh....<br> <p> right. if you look at the website, there appears to be more lines of code devoted to their webpage than the game itself. <p> don't get me wrong, the game sounds great. but the game sounds like there hasn't been a single line of code written. <p> why would the linux game tome report on "good ideas"? i have a thousand good ideas. should i submit them too? | 2000-09-18 00:44:09 | 0
Dreams Eternal | games | 1858 | Dreams Eternal | oops, i jut read the author is the head guy from the crystal space project. i retract my previous statement. i'm looking forward to some screenshots. :) | 2000-09-18 00:50:32 | 0
7colors | games | -1 | 7colors | It compiled without problems! No special libraries required. It worked fine out of the box. And the game is interesting enough for a couple of tries, until you beat the computer. Cute. | 2000-09-18 10:18:18 | 0
7colors | games | 3650 | 7colors | Could use some better explanation of how to play the game, although it's easy to figure out. (You control the color of one of the corner tiles. Changing the color of that tile changes all connected tiles with the same color. By choosing the color of tiles adjoining the region you control, your region grows.) Doesn't seem particularly challening. | 2000-09-18 10:54:20 | 0
SimCity 3000 Unlimited | games | 2642 | SimCity 3000 Unlimit | Excellent port of an excellent game, already ordered my copy. :-) The demo is pure garbage, as far as demos go... It's tutorial-only, so you're made to suffer through the tedious instructions every time you play. As someone said before, the demo is trash, but Loki did a good job porting it. Buy the game though, it will be worth your $$$. | 2000-09-18 18:14:27 | 0
7colors | games | 2642 | 7colors | Neat game. It's small, simple, and a good quick time-waster. It gets 4 stars because it's done very clean, compiles in like 2 seconds, and I find it quite amusing. ;-) | 2000-09-18 18:52:27 | 0
7colors | games | -1 | 7colors | If I weren't anonymous, I'd give it four stars. This is a fun little strategy game that's actually a bit deeper than it looks (when you play against a human.) I'd love to see a six-player network mode =) | 2000-09-18 20:29:06 | 0

Soldier of Fortune | games | -1 | Soldier of Fortune | In reply to Duane's problem below: I don't know if you've got it figured out yet, but I had the same problem with the sof demo running REALLY slow . . . (Athlon 800, 128 megs, Voodoo3). Anyways, It now works Great if I point the demo to the libGL.so that Quake 3 uses. From the command line type "./sof +set gl_driver /path/to/your/quake3/libGL.so" (obviously without the quotes). Tony | 2000-09-19 11:07:42 | 0
