| 2773 | Unreal Tournament | games | -1 | Unreal Tournament | i installed the 428 UT linux port and... it is unplayable. it seems that this is caused by a bug in the GLRenderer. in the 425 version the OpenGL-speed was very high but in the latest 428 i got less than 1 frame per second!!!!! my config: PIII-550 Graphics Blaster TNT Linux 2.2.16 Xfree86 4.0.1 with NVIDIA 0.94 drivers i think that everyone with a similar config will have the same problem with 428. | 2000-09-02 12:36:38 | 0 |

| 2775 | Unreal Tournament | games | -1 | Unreal Tournament | Yea, I've got a config like that (nVidia 0.9-4 drivers, XF 4.01, UT 428), I can't play the game at all. My mouse doesn't seem to work on the UT desktop, either, but that might just be a problem with fps, not sure how the mouse code for the desktop was done... 425 from Loki ran perfect, except I couldn't use 32-bits, and a majority of Mods wouldn't run... the whole reason I upgraded to 428. Looks like I'm going back to 413 until this is all fixed. | 2000-09-03 09:56:30 | 0 |
| 2776 | SimCity 3000 Unlimited | games | -1 | SimCity 3000 Unlimit | The demo sucked. Loki did a great ob of porting the demo, but the demo sucked.
It claims to allow a 10 year game, but it only allows you to play a canned introduction scenario with an advisor that keeps popping up telling you what to do, and the scenario ends after one year.
I was unable to play a game from scratch without the prebuilt areas and the advisor.
I was unable to play for more than one year.
Ratings:
Demo by Maxis: 1 Porting by Loki: 5 | 2000-09-03 16:46:43 | 0 |
| 2777 | Descent 3 | games | 2642 | Descent 3 | Finally got my copy :) Aside from a problem with my Banshee drivers and the mouse (happens in a number of games for some reason), this game truly rocks hard. The graphics are sweeeeet, and the atmosphere in the game is insanely tense. It's tons of fun, and the fact that some points in the game will just scare the heck out of you from surprise adds a lot. Buy this game. Now. :-) | 2000-09-03 21:39:54 | 0 |
| 2778 | Great Nations | games | -1 | Great Nations | Why is this game still on this site, if they no longer intend to support Linux? | 2000-09-03 21:53:08 | 0 |
| 2779 | 0verkill | games | 2642 | 0verkill | Oh... My... God. This is like, sooooooo cool. :-) Mostly from a techie standpoint... I have a hard time imagining actually PLAYING this, since the field of view is so limited. But it's neat anyway. ;-) | 2000-09-03 22:16:06 | 0 |
| 2780 | Hopkins FBI | games | 2642 | Hopkins FBI | Nicely done, cool graphics and all... But there's a NASTY crash bug like 5 minutes into the game. There's no way around it for me -- when I get to that point very early in the game, it just dies. | 2000-09-03 22:18:17 | 0 |
| 2781 | SimCity 3000 Unlimited | games | -1 | SimCity 3000 Unlimit | Don't get the demo; the game looks great, but the demo only allows very limited play, and then crashes or finishes. | 2000-09-04 03:04:10 | 0 |
| 2782 | SimCity 3000 Unlimited | games | 325 | SimCity 3000 Unlimit | The demo is not worth downloading. It appears Loki has dropped the ball on the demo. The game looks great, but the demo is very limited - you get maybe 18 months of "tutorial" play (not 10 years by any stretch!) and that's it. Not worth the 178Mb download. Buy the game; ignore the demo. | 2000-09-04 03:05:40 | 0 |
