Circus Linux! | games | 3655 | Circus Linux! | Ha ha ha... What a fun game. The music and sound effects are a big plus. Overall the game has a polished feeling that makes it stand out from the crowd of half finished open source games. SDL was a bit difficult to install since every package I downloaded depended on more packages I didn't have. An install script that would 'wget' and 'rpm -i' all the needed libraries then run 'ldconfig' before doing the 'configure' 'make' 'make install' would be a great touch. | 2000-05-31 20:44:02 | 0
Dave Gnukem | games | -1 | Dave Gnukem | I am a huge Duke Nukem fan and would love to check this game out, but I am afraid the link is broken :( If somebody knows of a good link please post it..Thanx | 2000-06-01 09:33:32 | 0
Tux the Penguin - A Quest for Herring | games | -1 | Tux the Penguin - A | Cool! Seems to run a bit too fast to be really controllable on my Athlon 700 with Matrox G400 though... | 2000-06-01 15:34:41 | 0
xtraceroute | games | 3659 | xtraceroute | This is awesome! With GLX running under X 4.0 with the new NVidia drivers, it is smooth as somethign really *really* smooth. Just like from a movie, and I can piss off Windows people. | 2000-06-01 18:50:36 | 0
Car World | games | 3661 | Car World | This is another great effort to bring realistic racing simulation to the Linux platform. It's a bit quirky in some areas, but overall, I'd recommend this game to any linux racing game fan | 2000-06-02 10:39:48 | 0
GRacer | games | 3661 | GRacer | (i get a whopping 40fps on a 400MHz K6-2 without acceleration, but without texture mapping). The game has much potential, but the parameters such as gravity, torque, are a little weird. The torque curve idea is really phenomoneal.. | 2000-06-02 10:55:44 | 0
XRacer | games | 3661 | XRacer | Wow, this game is really something! The Linux version didn't give my UNIX workstation much juice (it needs gfx acceleration) it only gave 10FPS, but running the Windoze 95 version was pretty smooth (~65FPS with the NVIDIA TNT w/ 333MHz PII) 3d physics (looped tracks, rolling, tilting, flipping) and variation in opponents would be nice little additions | 2000-06-02 11:02:17 | 0
SHCAR | games | 3661 | SHCAR | Quite impressive use of c-shell and signals...reminds me of those little TI-81 games played back in secondary schools. Add some color and some beeper noise, man! Even Bill made sure his ms-dog text games had that. | 2000-06-02 11:07:31 | 0
SpeedX | games | 3661 | SpeedX | no wonder why all my favorite PC racing classic games like Outrun, Lamborghini ran like thunder on 286-16... | 2000-06-02 11:13:49 | 0
xox | games | -1 | xox | So-so. I was nervous about running a binary, but I figure it can't do too much damage as a dummy user. Anyway, not a bad game, but the time limits make it a bit too hard. Control was kinda cool- where are there more games like this? | 2000-06-02 13:52:06 | 0
