Tomorrow (Friday, 4/23) afternoon at 3PM PST, Loki Software dudes Scott Draeker, Sam Latinga, and Matt Whose-Last-Name-I-Don't-Know will be hanging at #linuxctp on EFNet. It's possible some Activision folks may show up too. If you wanna ask questions about the Linux Civ:CTP port, there won't be any better time than tomorrow.

In case you haven't already heard, id Software studs Graeme Devine, John Carmack, and Christian Antkow all updated their .plans last night with information about the Real Soon Now release of Q3Test, the tech/platform test of Quake 3 Arena. Devine said the Mac port ought to be released sometime this weekend, followed by the Linux and Win32 ports some unspecified amount of time later. It sounds like we will probably not see the Linux version this weekend. Carmack's update elaborated on Devine's points and went on to discuss the gaming value of Mac systems. Finally, Christian Antkow attempted to put together a message board for q3test discussion, but it apparently didn't go so well and he has scrapped it for now. Somebody tell that guy he shouldn't be using an NT server if he expects a heavy load! |
