2400 Advanced Strategic Command games 994 Advanced Strategic C
Looks nice, but the screen updates are painfully slow... You spend several seconds just watching the health meter drop in a battle. That's bearable for the tutorial when you only have a handful of units, but it's effectively prevented me from playing any larger games.
2000-05-05 16:49:32 0
2401 Xpuyopuyo games 994 Xpuyopuyo
Mmmm... Puyopuyo...
Where would my GPA be without you?

And as for that "the AI is too hard" comment: rubbish. There are now many AI choices as well.
2000-05-05 18:55:25 0

2403 Xpenguins games -1 Xpenguins * * * * * * <- what? six stars?!? Very nice..... Download it or I'll punch a hole through your monitor (just joking :P ) 2000-05-07 07:02:25 0

2405 NetHack games -1 NetHack NetHack is the best ASCII RPG ever, if not the best RPG period. For those of you who "aren't into those kinda text game thingys", i suggest you download this and actually play it. This means more then viewing the first screen and complaining about the use of hjkl for movement. If you spend some time in the dungeons and learn the keys i think you'll see why ppl call this the best game ever. - Eikon 2000-05-07 18:03:38 0
2406 Xpenguins games 810 Xpenguins Cute. 2000-05-07 21:03:22 0
2407 NetHack games 3549 NetHack
The Biggest! The Baddest!

You just don't get any better than NetHack. The game has so much depth (literally) and the play has so much richness, that it's difficult to pull oneself away.
Graphics supplied by imagination. 2000-05-07 21:07:12 0
2408 Mad Bomber games -1 Mad Bomber Pretty good adaptation, obviously made by someone who loved Kaboom! It doesn't capture the addictive playability or the weird Zen quality of Kaboom!, but it's a nice try, and a decent game in its own right (and the author obviously understood what I mean by Zen quality ;). Playing the real Kaboom! in Stella doesn't capture the original intensity either, so the shortcomings are really only addressed by picking up a real 2600 and Kaboom! cartridge at a thrift shop (highly recommended). 2000-05-07 23:27:43 0
2409 Circus Linux! games -1 Circus Linux! Nice job, and the gameplay translates to a mouse better than Kaboom! did. Little slow on some machines though; it'd be nice to have an in-between graphics mode where it dispenses with the superfluous stuff, but still doesn't skip frames of the main characters (which makes the game difficult and frustrating). 2000-05-07 23:31:31 0
