A gravitational simulation strategy game. |
Two spaceships oppose each other across a 2D field of planets. Their mission is simply to destroy one another, but the gravity of the planets pulls their shots around making this a lot more tricky. Using the gravity of the planets to your advantage, and thus using less power to fire your shot, will earn you more points. |

Slipstream is a free multi-body vehicle simulator. |
<p>Slipstream is a free multi-body vehicle simulator. Instead of using some sort of specific empirical model of a particular type of vehicle, vehicles are modeled as assemblies of interconnected moving parts. This allows any kind of vehicle to be modeled and moreover the whole model is completely parametric so that everything can be configured from the mass of the chassis to suspension geometry and engine and transmission characteristics. Slipstream can be executed either in real-time or off-line through control scripts and every quantity calculated during the simulation can be logged for plotting or further analysis so it can be used as a game or as a tool to study vehicle dynamics. Currently a modern sports motorcycle model is implemented based on measurements made from such a machine and published in an academic research paper. |

<p>Slot Racers is a 2-player-only game. Each player is represented as a car and they can fire bullets at each other. Although the graphics aren't that good, it's still a very cool game and you can have a good laugh when playing it with your friends. |

Java Online RPG with Real-Time Action and rich 2D graphics |
<p>Sloth Online RPG is a work in progress that will provide a fully graphical online role playing game engine. SlothORPG is coded in Java and is currently in a near playable state featuring several classes with over a thousand lines of code. My main intentions with this project are to provide a free, fully functional, ever expanding Role Playing Engine (both client and server side) for the end user who would be playing the game. Developers would also be able to use the project as a resource on certain aspects of Java Game Programming.<br>
Server side the project implements the NIO Networking library to create a smoother, stronger tcp/ip core. I found UDP and TCP w/ the old IO library to be unreliable and sluggish respectively. The way in which the server is structured has proven to be strong thus far.<br>
The client side of the code features the Graphics2D Java library to provide near perfect animation without requiring a rendering device such as OpenGL or DirectX.<br>
To summarize my entire intent for this project I basically wanted to provide an Online RPG that is functional on almost any OS that has Java installed and can run just as smooth on low end machines while still being able to feature rich 2-D graphics. The source code is clean and neat as well as commented and organized. It is easy to read and understand for someone who has some knowledge of Java. As I write this, the project is coming along nicely and some pre-alpha local network testing has proven this. I plan to continue with this project and in the future include database integration and more of a developer-side interface.<br>

<p>SLUDGE ("Scripting Language for Unhindered Development of a Gaming Environment") is not only a scripting language for developing adventure games, but also provides graphical tools to make the same very easy. Not only the name, but also the concept are evocative of SCUMM.
<p>Development on SLUDGE was started 2000 by Hungry Software to power the game Out Of Order. Since then, other SLUDGE games have also been released as freeware.
<p>Originally written for Windows, SLUDGE was open sourced 2008 and since then ported to Mac OS X and Linux. All game files produced with older versions of SLUDGE can be played with newer versions of the engine, i.e. on all platforms running the SLUDGE engine. |
