Freeciv | games | -1 | Freeciv | As has been noted on the Dev list, an AI that trusts nothing is quite wise. Diplomacy vs. AIs is -usually- used just to cruelly manipulate them -- admit it, you just want diplomacy so you can keep it from attacking -you- until you're ready. | 2000-03-31 20:54:17 | 0

Penguin Command | games | 1858 | Penguin Command | Configure doesn't work. it claims:<br> <P> checking for main in -lpng... no<br> configure: error: Your system is missing libpng!<br> <P> yet my suse 6.2 system does have the library. there was an sdl library with this bug -- sdlimage i think it was called? i hate hacking autoconfed makefiles. they're really hard to understand! :( <P> oh well. | 2000-04-01 15:16:31 | 0
Penguin Command | games | 2642 | Penguin Command | Incredible! The graphics and sound are beautiful, especially the music, and I've yet to find a bug in the game. This is another excellent example of what can be achieved in open source games. | 2000-04-01 21:17:27 | 0
Car World | games | -1 | Car World | Fffff !!!! :)) It reminds me the sensations you had with the great Stuntcar on Amiga. It has an awsome potential. | 2000-04-01 21:23:54 | 0
Penguin Command | games | 810 | Penguin Command | I had the same problem as Peter with building this package - it claimed that I had no libpng installed - when in fact I do. (I also have SuSE 6.2) The problem is that libpng requires the zlib compression library - which configure does not attempt to link to. Also. the second argument of AC_CHECK_LIB should be the name of a function inside the library - not 'main'! I commented out the test for libpng in configure.in - ran autoconf and then the resulting configure script ran - but then the build died in IMH.h. So, I'll pass this onto the author and give up. :-( | 2000-04-02 17:36:59 | 0
gTans | games | 1714 | gTans | Great! I'm only missing a way to move more than one tile at once or a way to scroll the window. | 2000-04-03 13:49:19 | 0
Tunnel Fighter | games | -1 | Tunnel Fighter | Every time I stroll down the isles in Babbages (or some other computer game retail store) I mumble to myself: "There was once a time when people made games for the love of it." I loathe the reality that commercial game developers would rather have a huge spiffy-looking 3D model than an entertaining game. Linux games are the only games that I have seen that usually hold to the fact that games only need to be fun---not necissarily pretty. This game, I think holds to that tradition. :) The description alone is eough to make me get it. "Gloating over it. . ." lol. | 2000-04-04 15:26:15 | 0
