XBlast | games | 2391 | XBlast | This game may be the greatest game in the world. My stat file says that I have played 931 games. I can't wait to see the TNT version. | 2000-03-23 15:01:29 | 0
FACHODA Complex | games | 3396 | FACHODA Complex | Good game ! But no sound :-( | 2000-03-23 16:48:28 | 0
FACHODA Complex | games | -1 | FACHODA Complex | this is cool actually. i had some trouble with the game crashing and saying 'bad file descriptor, couldn't write to /dev/sequencer'. using -s (turning off sound altogether) fixed it. bummer. but then i read the docs and tried -u to force use of the enlightenment sound daemon (esnd) and sound works. unfortunately, at 1600x1200 resolution in DGA (full screen) mode it's a little slow with sound on. (obviously -- i can only run unreal tournament in 800x600 and even that's slow -- this is twice the resolution and still playable even without using a 3d accelerator.) (fyi, celery 400 overclocked to 500, 780MB RAM). I'm running a Voodoo 2 but it doesn't appear to use it. Graphics are great for a free game!!!! linux games are going to beat the living daylights out of windows games when all the libraries get finished, that much is obvious even now. keep up the great work!!! thanks for a fun game! can't wait to see it when it's finished based on current performance!! | 2000-03-23 20:44:25 | 0
FACHODA Complex | games | 3400 | FACHODA Complex | What can I say! I think this is the most graphically sophisticated game I've seen from a solo developer. I think it also probably the fastest non-accelerated 3-d I've seen - it just goes to show what you can do with a bit of assembler in the right place. Unfortunately the manpower and resources which go into a modern commercial game are so vast that I don't think solo development can compete these days, but this is still an awesome piece of work, and a lot of fun. I got sound working after finding the 'u' option. Works fine at 600x400 on a K6/2 333 in dga. | 2000-03-24 11:22:26 | 0
Xpuyopuyo | games | -1 | Xpuyopuyo | Puyo-Puyo is the greatest puzzle-game ever, this version is pretty OK, not as cool as the 'real' ones but I would give it an three. After all, it is puyo-puyo and puyo-puyo _cannot_ be very bad :) | 2000-03-24 14:06:55 | 0
Allegro | games | -1 | Allegro | Great Library - I'm using it for all of my game projects. It's quit portable - I moved the library smoothly from DOS to Linux development. | 2000-03-24 14:09:36 | 0
Missile Command | games | 99 | Missile Command | This is so simple, but so well executed. The difficulty settings need some tweaking, but the latest version builds and runs full screen effortlessly. Wow. You will likely need to use a three button mouse. | 2000-03-24 16:07:58 | 0
Core Wars | games | -1 | Core Wars | Core Wars *is* a game. The point is to write a program that can kill the other programs. Sure, it isn't something like Quake, but some people actually like games that make them think. | 2000-03-25 10:28:52 | 0
Liquid War | games | 2642 | Liquid War | Excellent game. It'd be nice if I could run it full screen, although a tape of CTRL-ALT-+ to switch to 640x480 works pretty good too. Anyway, the gameplay is pretty neat. I like it! Five stars for an excellent job. | 2000-03-25 18:50:54 | 0
