Nice graphics, nice sound, challenging, yet easy to learn gameplay, tons of levels. This is a wonderful little game that should set the standard for all X-based arcade games. |

Having just finished playing through Half-Life (a really wonderful should-not-be-missed game for Another O/S), I felt the need for a complete change of pace from cutting-edge 3D violence for awhile, so I downloaded Frotz, dove into the back of my closet and emerged with circa-1990 copies of Zork I and Leather Goddesses of Phobos on the original 5.25 inch floppies (I found Deadline for the Atari 800 too while I was in there. Man, Infocom had some cool packaging!). After another closet expedition for a 5.25 inch drive and a brief foray into my PC to install the drive, I finally managed to get the Zork1 data file copied. Unfortunately the Leather Goddesses disk is toast. Frotz played Zork flawlessly for me, just like Back in the Day. And it gets extra coolness points for having a Palm Pilot port available too. |

A great game under Windows - an excellent game under Linux. Network play adds a whole new dimension to the game, while the AI is hard enough to make things interesting.
Don't start playing if you've got work to do :) |

I like this one. It runs really well,
it's stable. It has nice colors.
You don't have to install any obscure
libraries to use it. And it's a great
way to waste time.
I think it's better than any other
tetris implementation out there.

This game is AWESOME. I had no idea
that there were so many variations of
solitaire until I played this game.
It implements all of them very nicely.
And some of them are damned tricky.
If you don't turn off the "sound"
button you might get freaked out when
you either win a game or restart
a game. Also, the "rules" pulldown
menu changes the solitaire game
that you're playing. The default game
is "Spider", but I like "Seahaven".
It KICKS "Free Cell"'s ASS in my opinion.

Snes9x is THE super nintendo emulator for Linux. It supports almost (pretty damned close) everything. |
