1.0.3 |
A dancing game written in Python. |
pydance is a dancing game similar to Dance Dance Revolution, Pump It Up, or Technomotion. To play these games, you typically dance on a platform or mat, timing your steps to match arrows scrolling up the screen to the beat of the music that plays. pydance supports many different arrangements of panels, two players, keyboard and pad play, most features of the proprietary arcade games, lets you write your own steps for songs, and is compatible with other popular dancing games for Windows like Kick It Up, Stepmania, or Dance With Intensity. |

A set of Python modules for creating games in Python |
<p>Pygame is a set of Python modules written to help create games in Python.<br />
The package is wrapped around SDL and several of the SDL daughter libraries. There are numerous released open source games and applications built with Pygame.
<p>
Highlights of Pygame features are listed:
<ul>
<li>Full OpenGL support through pyopengl.</li>
<li>Transform module for image scaling, rotation, and flips.</li>
<li>Image loading from many formats, with alpha and colourkeys.</li>
<li>Streaming music data; mp3, mod, vorbis (and more).</li>
<li>CD-ROM support with audio playback.</li>
<li>Joystick input handling.</li>
<li>Antialiased Truetype font rendering.</li>
<li>Multiple sound channel mixer.</li>
<li>Cross platform (with multiple video backends on each platform).</li>
</ul></p>
The package also comes with complete documentation, tutorials, and many
playable examples. There is an active mailing list and IRC channel, which
makes getting started much more accessible.
<p>

objects, exceptions, and other utility modules.
</p>
Aside from compiling and installing from source, it is included in all major Linux distribution repositories. |
