The MSX home computer system emulator that aims for perfection |

Open source, portable emulator of the MSX home computer system.
Almost all MSX machines are emulated: MSX1, MSX2, MSX2+, Turbo-R... And also quite some extra hardware is emulated: SCC, SCC+, FM-PAC, Music Module, PSG, Moonsound, Sunrise IDE, Disk Controllers, MIDI, almost all memory mappers, etc... Actually, more than any other MSX emulator!

It also features quite some extras: Rendering using OpenGL acceleration, full screen, built in console (based on TCL), MSX debugging facilities, scalers, using directories as disk images (still buggy though), screenshots, speed settings, frame skip, scanlines, TV-blur, afterglow (OpenGL), and more...

For a really long description: again, please see our homepage. |

Open source reimplementation of the The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind engine. |

OpenMW is an attempt to reimplement 2002's popular role-playing game Morrowind. It aims to be a fully playable, open source implementation of the game. You must own Morrowind to use OpenMW.

To give you a better idea of what this project is about, here are some of the aims for the future of OpenMW:

Be a full featured reimplementation of Morrowind.

Run natively on Windows, Linux and MacOS X.

Support all existing content, including Tribunal, Bloodmoon and all user created mods.

Allow much greater modability: change game rules, create new spell effects, etc through scripting.

Fix system design bugs, like the “dirty” GMST entries in mods, and the savegame “doubling” problem.

Improve the interface and journal system.

(Possibly) Improve game mechanics, physics, combat and AI.

(Possibly) Support multiplayer at some point.

(Possibly) Improve graphics to use more modern hardware.

It’s an ambitious list, and there’s a lot left to do before these goals can become reality. If you know C++ we could use your help in making the game a reality.

OpenMW is released under the GNU General Public License version 3, and all source code has been written completely from scratch. It also builds on various other open source tools, most notably OGRE for graphics, and Bullet for collision (and possibly physics). |

Real Time Strategy game with supports of Red Alert and Command & Conquer |

OpenRA is a Libre/Free Real Time Strategy game engine supporting early Westwood games like Command & Conquer and Command & Conquer: Red Alert.

OpenRA can be currently played as online multiplayer game only. However, you can create a single player game by selecting bots as enemy opponents with three different AIs (easy, medium, hard).

Watching from top, player selects units, and send them around attacking enemies. You also build buildings, and can controls superweapons like nuke and chrome. Naval units like subs and cruisers, and planes and helicopters help balance the gameplay, and has been a little changed from the original games.

If you have original Red Alert files, you can use them with OpenRA. But, they are not necessary. Both original C&C: Red Alert and C&C has been recreated as mods and can be downloaded from game menu itself. They are not just clones of the original versions but provide improved and rebalanced gameplay.

The website of OpenRA offers the open code, a place to report bugs has a forum where gamers can discuss new ideas and modifications they have made or would like to make to the game.

The irc channel #openra on freenode is active, and developers hang out to help modders and mappers make new cool games.

2 new advanced mods have been created, and more are coming. Mappers can also make creative maps with totally different gameplays. The wiki, forum and the irc channel will give you help.

The unstable playtest is the most played, be sure you download that. And ask in Irc if anyone can host a game for you, or invite players to your games.. |

1.7.1 |
OpenRPG is suite of role-playing utilities for online and tabletop gaming. |

More accurately described, OpenRPG is a role-playing game shell. In its basic form, OpenRPG is a peer-to-peer chat program with very advanced die rolling capabilities, a web based miniature map (think virtual table top), and a data organizer (game tree). However, OpenRPG is highly extendable and customizable. OpenRPG is designed in a way to facilitate the development of add-ons or extension modules (called applets) that can add to its functionality. Add-ons are created on top of the gaming shell using resources provided by the OpenRPG core. Currently, OpenRPG contains a collection of generic and system specific add-ons. OpenRPG also supports form based character sheet. |

An SDL-based port of Syobon Action. |

OpenSyobon-M is an SDL-based port of Syobon Action for Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux and Mac OS X based on OpenSyobon rc2.

Syobon Action is a 2D Japanese freeware video game notoriously known on the Internet for its extremely difficult levels. The game's reason of excessive difficulty is that, unlike Super Mario Bros., it contains concealed traps (such as spikes, "falling stars" and mushrooms). They are found commonly on platforms, clouds, pipes and even in the sky, and are activated (and therefore visible) only when the player is about to hit them. The game's obstacles are so tricky that it makes the game extremely difficult to complete. |
