The Apocolypse almost destroyed Humans, but they survived, and changed, and new peoples appeared on the earth. The graceful elves of the woodlands, the stone dwelling dwarves, the solitary, nature loving anitre, the strong, if dim, ogrue, and the impish darklings. As is their nature, the new and ancient peoples divided up the land, peacefully at times, bloody at others... ScryMUD new

1504 2 2000-11-05 08:32:33 The OpenUT Project is proud to announce a series of must see site updates focusing on documentation, UT MOD issues, server administration, TacOps 1.6 updates, and two new experimental OpenGL renderers (the Nonlinear Projection GL Renderer and an OpenGL renderer for supporting detailed textures). The Utah-GLX and DRI HOW-TO's have been updated and a new HOW-TO has been posted detailing building OpenUT from the most recent Loki CVS sources.
Our Utah-GLX and XFree86 4.0/DRI HOW-TOs are excellent documents detailing the installation of OpenGL under XFree86 on a variety of hardware configurations (including 3dfx, Matrox, ATI, and Intel, among others). If you are new to Linux or need assistance installing or configuring OpenGL/XFree86 4.0/DRI, these documents are invaluable sources of information.
We are also still in need of an individual(s) to assist with creating an installer for the UT strike force MOD. Interested parties should make contact through our mailing list. (Please visit http://openut.sourceforge.net).
Over the past several months, visits to The OpenUT Project home have decreased substantially. We believe the downturn in activity stems from a misconception that OpenUT has been abandoned. Rest assured, this is far from true. WE NEED YOUR HELP! The most-recent OpenUT CVS sources now reside on Loki CVS servers, but OpenUT collaboration continues at our SourceForge Project home (http://openut.sourceforge.net). The sources located at our SourceForge Project home should be considered legacy. Among the many new and revised documents found at the OpenUT Project website is a HOW-TO for compiling OpenUT from the latest up-to-date Loki CVS sources that closely reflect the most recent patchlevel.
