You noticed a distinct lack of collision detection bugs (the collision detection bugs noted by Janne Moren). These bugs used to exist, but Karl fixed them. I mostly worked on BumpRacer (and the SDL) from the Windows side (My integrated sound card isn't being taken so well by Linux). But to my memory, the last version of BumpRacer I worked with had a "make" that worked perfectly fine... Hmmm... I'll have to take another look at that. My name is Lion, I added the particle effects. I've been moving to Seattle for the past two months, I suspect that I'll have my computer back up here by the beginning of December, so I'll be able to work on these things. (I'm thinking immediately, my first priority will be adding some sort of notification, something, ANYTHING to help with the no sound->crash problem. After that, I'd probably work on the clock...) Hmmm... Wouldn't it be cool if particles of exhaust could kill little wall hugging creatures? Something tells me I'm getting ahead of myself, but it never hurts to speculate. If the make/automake thing *IS* a problem, and it *IS* easy to fix, do you think that perhaps you could do it? I know nothing about it; it could help us out a lot if you would do it.
