Medieval real-time strategy |

This is a port to Linux of the Windows game Majesty. Majesty for Linux contains both the full Majesty game, and the expansion pack, The Northern Expansion.

Majesty is a Real Time Strategy game with a difference. Instead of controling your forces directly, you have to ask them, and if they think it's a good idea, or if you pay them enough, then they will do it. Otherwise, they'll tell you just what you can do with your orders!

Majesty runs on x86 PC and Apple PPC hardware running Linux. |

A front console/X front end to X-Mame. |
MAMECAT stands for M.A.M.E. Catalog/Launcher.

It consists of three programs:

mamecat (curses version of the launcher; text-only)

qmamecat (Qt version of the launcher; X11)

catgen (a simple catalog generator)

The key-features of MAMECAT are

preview-image support (Qt/X11 version only !), several file-formats (GIFs, BMPs, XPMs etc...)

easy, extendable catalog-format (incl. a catalog-generator)

X11 (using Qt) and text-only (i.e console or xterm) user interfaces available

works with most recent xmame-versions (should virtually work with any release :-) |

Multiplayer Angband Conversion |

MAngband is a free online multiplayer real-time roguelike game, derived from the single player game Angband.

To win the game you must build up a character, selected from any one of 10 races and 6 classes, to be powerful enough to defeat Morgoth, Lord of Darkness, who lives in the dungeon 5000 feet below the surface of the town. As you work towards this near-impossible goal, you will chart unexplored dungeon passageways, do battle with legendary creatures, and find lost artifacts. And of course throughout your journeys you will encounter many other adventurers -- whether they be friend or foe is up to you to decide!
|

Should compile fine on any system with a termcap library (NCurses, Curses), or an X11 distribution.
(Hint for Linux: Remove the -ltermcap entry in the Makefile to get it to compile -lncurses should be all that's needed on Linux systems) |

1st person view Pacman clone with bonus and malus. |
Mango Quest is a 3D arcade game written in C/C++ and using openGL. The goal is to extend the pacman-style gameplay in several ways :

you see what the main character sees (like in traditional FPS games),

we provide a easy to use yet powerfull 2D level editor,

and you'll find about 20 items (bonus and malus) that will give you a lot of fun·

This game runs both on Linux and win32 platforms (and may run on other in the future if you want to contribute), and uses the SDL library. |

The ultimate marble game |

ManiacMarble3D is a remake of a well known game concept. The player has to guide a marble from the start to a target point in a 3D environment. The tricky part of the game is the constant fight against the gravity because the marble has to be moved across small platforms in the sky.

The soundtrack was performed by "the famous band Lasch".
|

An classic(?) platform jumping game ported from the ZX Spectrum. |
"Miner Willy, while prospecting down Surbiton way, stumbles upon an ancient, long forgotten mine-shaft. On further exploration, he finds evidence of a lost civilisation far superior to our own, which used automatons to dig deep into the Earth's core to supply the essential raw materials for their advanced industry. After centuries of peace and prosperity, the civilisation was torn apart by war, and lapsed into a long dark age, abandoning their industry and machines. Nobody, however, thought to tell the mine robots to stop working, and through countless aeons they had steadily accumulated a hugh stockpile of valuable metals and minerals, and Miner Willy realises that he now has the opportunity to make his fortune by finding the underground store."

Manic Miner is a platform game in the classic style - many would say that Matthew Smith's original 1983 version was the very game which popularized the genre.

This port brings Andy Noble's updated 1997 version of the game to the UNIX platform, introducing updated graphics, sound and music but attempting to maintain the precise gameplay of the original. |
