LAB3D/SDL is a port of Ken's Labyrinth to modern operating systems, using OpenGL for graphics output and the SDL library to provide user input, sound output, threading, and some graphics support functions. Music output is through Adlib emulation or MIDI (MIDI only on Windows, Linux and other operating systems with OSS-compatible sound APIs).

Improvements over the original Ken's Labyrinth:

<li>Runs natively on 32-bit Windows or Linux (and possibly some similar systems).
<li>Uses OpenGL to provide hardware accelerated, anti-aliased graphics with trilinear interpolation in true colour (where available).
<li>Multiple simultaneous sound effects.

<p>Using only ASCII characters, ladder was an addictive game that was very popular for computers running the CPM operating system. Seeing the game, you might be very much reminded of "Donkey Kong".</p>
<p>Now Ladder has been rewritten in Java and can be played on most of todays computers.</p>

Not-for-kids comedy puzzle game in the visual novel style |
<p>This is a puzzle/adventure game. It's a bit like a visual novel, but has puzzle segments. Gameplay can be considered similar to Phoenix Wright, although with less mystery.
<p>The story is a short comedy about two children's TV show hosts. One is a buxom blonde named Marie St. Marie, freshly hired and very friendly; the other is an excitable chipmunk puppet named Miss Bandit who has been on the show for years. With her boss out of town, Bandit has cooked up something... special for Marie today.
<p>This game contains some NSFW dialog and art. Be warned. It's rated "OT" on the manga scale, PG13 on the MPAA scale, and Extremely Silly on the MrSulu scale. |
