| 13235 | Neverwinter Nights Client | games | -1 | No tech support | If you are considering buying this game, be aware that Bioware and Atari do not provide any meaningful tech support, and you may not be able to play it; I have not. You can read more about it at the following URL: http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=252758&forum=72 | 2003-08-15 16:15:04 | 0 |

| 13237 | Battle for Wesnoth | games | 8409 | Great game! | I love it! Really fun game! Too bad it's a bit silent... It needs music! Most of the time, I find myself whistling the Shining Force(tm) battle theme to compensate this lack :P I mean, it's the kind of music that goes real well with the game; pumpy, catchy, adventurous. | 2003-08-15 17:17:35 | 0 |
| 13238 | Battle for Wesnoth | games | 8117 | Re: Great game! | Yes, it does need music. It's planned, but it's just a matter of time-to-implement as well as finding an artist to do the music!
Of course, you're welcome to implement music support and send me the code and I'll include it! :-)
In the meantime, I highly recommend listening to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack music while you play to get in the theme :-)
-Sirp. | 2003-08-15 20:12:40 | 13237 |
| 13239 | 3947 | news | 4512 | Re: I wouldn't get too excited | OK, now that's interesting. I don't think I'd heard of that project before, and took a fair bit of searching to turn up anything at all on it. Which doesn't quite seem to fit with the idea that it was so massively hyped. But yeah, it does look like that project ended up as true vapourware.
Still, maybe he'll get a lot further with this here music thing (I certainly hope so, open source games could do with more/better music). | 2003-08-15 20:41:59 | 13231 |
| 13240 | 3947 | news | 506 | Re: I can't believe it !! | This is not the first artist who has/will contribute to Open Source games, Joseph Toscano (http://zhaymusic.com/) for example has already contributed to at least Adonthell, Pingus and Tuxracer with pretty fantastic music (Adonthell is easily one of the best game soundtracks ever created). I have also seen quite a few professional artists around Freecrafts FcMP and Light Princess also managed to find some great artists. After all I have come to the conclusing that graphic/music artists are not the biggest problem, sure its a problem to get them, but if you have something good to offer they will come sooner or later and do some work. But most important don't hesitate to ask them to create some music, if nobody knows that you need music, surly nobody will create it.
After all I think the biggest problem of most games out there is lack of focus, lack of coordination and lack of documentation, if nobody knows what you need, when you need it and when to expect to see his work in the more or less finshed product, it simply isn't all that motivating to contribute any work, just to see it lost a few month later. | 2003-08-16 00:21:45 | 13205 |
| 13241 | Racer | games | -1 | Re: Racer | It seems you didn't release 0.5.0 under GPL after all. Why so? Or did I miss something? | 2003-08-16 00:48:45 | 11144 |

| 13243 | Martian Memory | games | 8017 | Good game! | The gameplay is simply terrific, great sounds and gfx.
However, there should be at least an option to put the images to be less bloody, in order to let childrens play it. | 2003-08-16 03:53:35 | 0 |
| 13244 | Martian Memory | games | 4207 | Re: Good game! | yes i agree with the gfx... they are a little bloody for kids... i just wanted to use the Pachi el marciano characters... but not all of them are very "suitable for kids", i'll try to solve it with my gfx artist
Thanks for the comments | 2003-08-16 04:27:51 | 13243 |
