12850 Devastation games -1 Re: Bad yes. :) Tons of them for Windows. 2003-07-28 14:38:00 10986
12851 Asymptopia BlackJack games -1 Re: Er........... Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me, casinos are so damn unscrupulous as it is. "Hook 'em while they're young!"
I'd rather go to the racetrack, where the leaky roof and the surly employees remind me that the track's not raking in my money. :) 2003-07-28 15:15:49 12845
12852 Porrog games 4512 Re: CowboyNeal ate my post : O
OK, well that's a bit more of a radical difference than AZERTY is... Problem is, most roguelike games use almost the whole keyboard. Nethack has the # key combinations to deal with not having enough keys available. I'm already having a tough time trying to figure out what to use for certain actions in Porrog, due to clashes in what I'd want to use for keys. Remapping of the keys would likely cause problems. But I had already planned on allowing the user to choose cursor keys/keypad for movement, as an alternative (with the rest of the keys staying the same).
Would that be acceptable, or could there be a problem with that? EG, are there Dvorak keyboards without the numeric keypads? I don't really want to end up putting "non-Dvorak keyboard" in the system requirements... 2003-07-28 20:12:31 12834
12853 LinBolo games -1 Re: Excellent to see it ported yeah , me too. I only played it a bit, but my favourite tactic was to carry a pillbox as much as possible , and drop it in front of anyone who tried to attack me. bwa ha ha ha :) 2003-07-29 01:47:10 12839
12854 Porrog games 7281 Re: CowboyNeal ate my post All of the Dvokak boards that I've seen (Including the one-handed models for the disabled) have numpads. I wouldn't worry about it too much, really, though. You're doing the right thing by comparing movement to characters inputted (Rather than the scancodes which can, sometimes, differ. Especially on the cheaper keyboards which don't use a different controller chip and count on drivers/modules to sort everything out.) and most Dvorak users are used to adapting. The last thing I really want is for you to get bogged down on a relatively unimportant feature and have developement of more important things - say, having a character with a name... Or a sword that you can use... - get put off.
Um... Oh... And you should go subscription-based MMORPG. (I like suggesting the unhelpful to watch you scurry around afterwards.)
2003-07-29 03:03:01 12852

12856 Njam games 8050 Re: Even for pacman, life became harder. Well that should be it now. After reducing ghosts number to five, and adding bonus life feature, I'd say that is it possible to pass the whole game (I just made it to the last level).

Just learn how ghosts behave and use it. (Red and orange chase you, blue does not. Red doesn't turn on cross-roads, etc. It's all in .html docs). Also, build a strategy for each level to get the bonus life, and that's it. ;)

I built Njam to be a multiplayer game, but it seems that the single player mode is more important, so there you go. 2003-07-29 09:01:33 11769
12857 Njam games 8050 Re: Suggestion Sorry for such late reply. I was considering whether to do it or not. And I decided not to. In 0.95 I made some changes in the AI, so now ghosts are easier to catch. Only the orange one still has old "smart" AI, and it's really hard to get him. (Tip: wait around the corner) But it's just one ghost. After playing the game a lot in past month I don't think such change isn't necessary anymore. 2003-07-29 09:06:47 11773
12859 LinBolo games -1 Mac game? Someone has gotta bitch about it.. Bolo was not originally a mac game. Before that it was a kind of interesting game for the Apple II. 2003-07-29 09:41:25 0
