12719 Lord of the Rings engine games 5147 Lord of the Rings engine As LotR is abandonware and can be downloaded from 'home of the underdogs' it's really great to play the full game again. Everything (except music ... needed to patch a little bit) worked fine. For those among you who don't have a soundcard with midi support, edit midi.c line 99 and replace 'playmidi -t 0.4' with 'timidity -T 160'. The resulting music is the same but timidity does not need midi hardware. 2003-07-20 10:09:40 0

12721 Bad Onion games -1 Bad Onion ./fxi -w -b badonion.dcb ./fxi: error while loading shared libraries: libpng.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory i have a gentoo 1.4rc4 box with libpng 1.2.5-r4 hope you can help me! 2003-07-20 11:24:03 0
12723 Bad Onion games -1 Re: Bad Onion I also get that error because I have libpng 1.2.5 (libpng.so.3). Perhaps the creators of the game could link statically to any libs they use, since they didn't release the source. 2003-07-20 13:19:04 12721
12724 Bad Onion games -1 Re: Bad Onion To me, the game is very boring. 2003-07-20 13:24:35 12712
12725 The Third Reich games -1 Re: Der dritte Reich It's a game that's building off World War 2 stories. So, it is expected to be correct and not necessarily complete. If I made a game, called it pong, and instead of seeing two paddles and a ball you see tits and ass: everyone will be angry I called it Pong. The Third Reich(TM) however, containes some of what people expect to find; Nazis, swastikas, black leather, Nazi-developed weapons, some historical interactivity or whatever you want to cite as being parallel to the World War 2 thing.
Now, who wants to see tits and ass in pong? Yabba dabba doo! 2003-07-20 14:08:37 12678
12726 The Third Reich games -1 Re: Das dritte Reich But we did raise zombies. How do you think all the zombies were found buried in the mass graves? They wouldn't die after being shot at, as they often pulled and stitched themselves back together to rejoin battle. The allies burried the zombies in the ground deeper so they wouldn't be able to dig themselves out again.
Sincerily,
The Nazi Propoganda Troll 2003-07-20 14:11:06 12691
12727 Lord of the Rings engine games 7416 Re: lord of the rings If You want to try the demo, You must define DEMO=1 in the Makefile (see the line "DEMO = -DDEMO=0"), then type "make clean; make". If You compile with DEMO=0, You wil not be able to run the game with the demo data. 2003-07-20 14:28:35 12720
12728 Tenebrae games -1 Tenebrae is dying I say this because: about month ago, the Tenebrae developers said they will choose to build the upcoming Tenebrae 2 for only nVidia-based graphics accelarators. I think this is a bad decision because the many other solutions for graphics acceleration that supports the Pixel and Vertex effect technology is becoming more prime for Open Source operating systems. 3DLabs has recently released closed source DRI drivers for its latest VPUs, ATI has finally released a almost nVidia-competitive driver base for its Radeon GPUs, and as well SiS and Trident are doing well to compete with their hardware which also has DRI support to some extent. Even rumor has it that PowerVR will release a new and more advanced Kyro chipset that will compete with Radeon and GeForce FX! The point I'm trying to make is, Tenebrae chose to only support nVidia a little while ago when ATI didn't have a good driver for the Radeon and thus had many severe problems with Tenebrae in Windows and as well in *BSD and Linux. Since then, 3DLabs has even released a closed source DRI driver and as well ATI has improved its closed source *BSD and Linux support, as well as Tungsten Graphics' open-source ATI Radeon driver (sponsered by The Weather Channel, twc.com) has excellently improved to almost near perfection.
Please, everyone voice your use of non-nVidia products, that the Tenebrae developers choose a neutral and cross-architecture programming path and Tenebrae may be compatible with many more graphics acclerators.
For those that don't know, Tenebrae will run on Sparc and Alpha computers. This is a testament to the wide variety of compatibility Tenebrae offers. And as well, to date only The Weather Channel -sponsered Radeon DRI drivers will work on Sparc and Alpha. Keep it open-source, people! Keep it compatible! Keep cheering for Tenebrae! Oh, and while you're all at it, go check Ryan Gordon's "Dark Places" Quake engine (http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/); just like Tenebrae, but faster and much more compatible on various graphics hardware and architectures, whith better multiplayer network support than Tenebrae. 2003-07-20 14:31:24 0
