| 12552 | Gearhead | games | 4083 | Quite promising. | I'm a huge fan of roguelikes and minimalist games, and this one has quite a lot of potential. An optional tactical mode can be used in place of the standard roguelike control scheme and the ability to design a mech are, as far as I know, new to the genre. Departures include a somewhat weak dungeon generation system and lack of 'true death' by erasure of the save file. I suspect the former will be improved upon, if only in the variety of types of things one can expect to find in a dungeon, while the latter is something I only consider relevant as roguelikes are the only genre to have such a feature, and can thus be seen as inherent to the genre. Definitely worth checking out. If you're turned off by text games, an SDL version is in the works. | 2003-07-11 00:52:39 | 0 |

| 12558 | Globulation 2 | games | 5840 | Surprising game | Excellent graphic and AI intelligence. I didn't expect so good work. GUI is amazing too. Also thank for Czech translation. Thank for Debian packages. Sound and User guide would be helpful. | 2003-07-11 16:30:13 | 0 |
| 12559 | Globulation 2 | games | -1 | Good, but ... | This is a really impressive game, and the concept of letting your troop do the work is quite nice (they are even more free than in Majesty). The AI is good too, even if I won the first I played, when I replayed the same map, I lost (due to lack of food, maybe it was because of the AI...).

Here's the constructive comments :
- In one game (the small islands map) me and the enemy were totally covered by food, so it was hard to deal a good war. You should allow growth only in a special terrain specified by the map-maker.
- In the same game, I saw that it was really hard to overcome your opponent. Even if you were stronger than him, the fact that your troup had to walk/swim a long way made them easy prey. I don't know how you could make it to help the attacker (maybe make the fighter cannibal or make a structure that allow to "over-feed" a unit).
- The worker and the fighter are too alike in graphics. The fighter should be even larger, or something like that, or make her totally different, just like the explorer.

Hope it help you make an even better game and "merde". | 2003-07-11 17:42:31 | 0 |
| 12560 | Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory | games | -1 | awesome! | Just d/led it today ~ running a 533Mhz Celeron w/ 256mb ram and geforce2mx440. Surprisingly the game WILL run fairly well even at 1024x768x32bpp! | 2003-07-11 19:09:56 | 0 |
| 12561 | Project LRNJ: Slime Forest | games | -1 | How to save? | Didn't find out how to save the game. Otherwise: I don't think it's too hard, but you just can't make a step forward with all those slimes. But that's ok, I don't want to get anywhere anyways but to learn, and for that the game is great! Later I'd like to see not only kanji but words, like "gakusei" and the player has to type the furigana. It's annoying that one has to wait for the slime to put the next question for a while... Like when there's only one left and I have to retype 5 times, everytime waiting a while. I thought that "ki e" (katakana) was "ke" and not "kye", but I could be wrong... Di and du should be accepted, too, not only dzi and dzu. I find the graphics very good, nothing to moan about. I especially like the explanations of the kanji, I didn't have that before. If you read them, it's much easier to remember! Thanks, Raoul | 2003-07-11 20:03:32 | 0 |
| 12562 | Globulation 2 | games | 6732 | Re: Good, but ... | I totally agree with you, it's a great game. And the comments you made are very good points

Additional issues i found are:
- Configuration isn't saved, language is always reset... maybe a .glob2 file in $HOME?
- Can't configure resolution / fullscreen inside game

One idea about the warrior/food issue... they could have an skill called "food rationing" or something and get food "time" bonuses depending on training level: (in example) +0% in lvl 0, +10% in 1, +25% in 2, +40% in 3.
Anyways my attacking strategy includes creating "camps" with feeding+hospitals

Congratz to the creators, very good job. | 2003-07-11 20:09:09 | 12559 |
