12351 FreeCraft games -1 ATTN, prodicle gamer What is your malfunction? I demand your performance! Do as the Crown says for you to do!
Blizzard: You, Freecraft or whatever you're called... We're the defacto government of anything *craft and you shall dismember your life and limbs until you are favorable in our eyes. Bow to our immortal offels; Warcraft. We are your Master and you shall do what we say by how we say it, especialy without citing any of the silly law stuff you see in courts.
> You aren't supposed to reply with no useable information. Where's the witty remark about game company A making a not so good product of game company B? Where's the fire in your post? I'll tell you where it is...
It's still up your sour ass and you're on your "blame OSS/GPL" pogo stick trying to force it out. I didn't force my ideas on anyone. Blizzard is forcing their warrantless Cease and Decist letter on Freecraft and you have the nerve to nonconclusivly lie by saying I'm forcing my ideals on everyone! We're on happypenguin.org and we're discussing gaming. From the skid-mark history of all your trolls in this forum, you haven't a clue about Freecraft ever since you came across this forum topic and you've posted the majority of pointless topics in this forum! Before talking, study the situation! IP law is a verry shady subject and according to Thomas Jefferson's intent, IP laws are assbackwards now! (read http://chansen.tzo.com for a verry well biased view on IP)
Kudos! :-) 2003-06-27 16:20:40 12348

12353 Protector games -1 Re: 90 errors - won't compile :( I thought the game was too hard at first, but after a couple of weeks' practice it got much more reasonable. I'd say the key is to know what all the powerups will do for you and save the time-limited ones till you have a strategic need for them (don't pick them up straight away.)
It would also be a good idea if details like what the powerups do were in the .txt instructions, since many people won't sit through the demo sequence. 2003-06-27 18:54:02 11931
12354 FreeCraft games -1 Re: You people are hilarious. 1.) The standard Warcraft II didn't use a CD-Key. There goes half your argument, Napoleon.

2.) When you purchase a piece of software, you are legally entitled to basically do whatever the hell you want with it. You can play it, rip it apart, use it as a frisbee. You aren't allowed to disassemble it and use -proprietary code-, which is copyrighted, neither are you allowed to distribute copyrighted elements such as graphics or sounds, which is 100% fair on the part of the developers. Freecraft did neither of these; it disassembled parts of Warcraft II to see how it worked, sure, almost ALL freeware editors did it, and Blizzard even encouraged people to do so at once stage. It did not, however, utilize proprietary Blizzard code, nor was it distributed with any copyrighted material. There are numerous other engine ports such as ScummVM and Exult which show that this is possible.

3.) Vivendi's main "argument" was based around that people might be "confused" between the similarity of the two games, and gave them the poison dagger with a "cease and desist" notice. Since they have a legal schlong the size of a small European nation, the Freecraft developers rightfully scurried off like frightened salamanders, since they didn't want to duke it out over something which wasn't even profitable. 2003-06-27 19:48:27 12215
12355 America's Army: Special Forces games -1 Re: anyone else having problems? Yes it means you need a new videocard since it doesnt have the guts to take the game, on the other hand, if you have a suitable card, you obviously do not have 3d setup correctly. This is with X, not the game itself. 2003-06-28 02:02:41 11999
