It contains a list of step by step `upgrade instructions' you need to do.
Note that weapons have two new parameters, `flags' and `fire_sound_code'.
The values for the flags parameter are FIXED and NOFIRESOUND. FIXED means that weapons may not rotate, and NOFIRESOUND means that no sound will be played when the weapon is fired (good for mines).
Also check out the new parameters for the server command `sysparm'. You can have the server tell the client to auto load a star chart, see the sysparm file_starchart.
XShipWars 1.33d updated
1106 2 2000-03-06 00:13:51

There's a good article about everyone's favorite GPL'ed strategy game, Freeciv at The Haus.
Linuxgames.com's Matt Matthews has written a nice preview of Heavy Gear II, the next port coming from Loki.
Glenn sent in the following terse announcement:
X-Caliber RPG engine and The DragonNet game created using X-Caliber. Open source project currently in development. We are looking for additional developers. http://www.x-caliber.org
X-Caliber appears to be another attempt at a free massively multiplayer online RPG, like Everquest or Ultima Online. (Hmm...how about if from now on, everybody who wants to develop a MMORPG contributes to an existing project like Majik 3D, Worldforge or Arianne?)
Stuff default

1109 2 2000-03-06 00:54:55 This week, your Uncle Bob will be travelling for his Real Job, so updates may be scarce or non-existant. Because I love you so, I'll try to attend to things while I'm away, but I have a suspicion I'll be awful darn busy. If you send me mail, you're not allowed to flame over lack of response until next Friday, got it? Have a swell week, Linux gamers.
God, I hate flying.... No updates this week default

1114 -1 2000-03-14 10:23:36 Category: Puzzle
Description: The object of the game is to match identical dice by lining them up adjacent to each other. Matching dice will sink into the ground. Sinking dice can also be matched; this is called chaining and earns lots of points. Ones are an anomaly; they don't match anything, but all ones in the playing area can be made to vanish by chaining a one to any other sinking dice. In trial mode, dice rise continuously from the floor and the game is only over when the playing area is full of dice. In endless mode (not implemented yet), the aim is to survive for as long as possible. In timed mode the aim is to achieve the highest score in three minutes. In puzzle mode, completing a level is achieved by sinking all the dice within a fixed number of "steps". A step is any movement of the dice; player movements don't count. dice 0.0.1 new
