Orbit | games | -1 | Orbit | Spiffy. There seem to be issues with hitting -- or even drawing -- targets at very very very close range, however. The crosshairs could be larger, or otherwise facilitate sniping (e.g. I toyed with replacing the laser with a sniper rifle -- *high* speed, very long recharge time, high damage), but even *massively* slowing down the effect of cursor keys (mouse for coarse adjustment, keyboard for very very very fine) it's *very* difficult to hit > 25,000 km or so, and it's more efficient to buzz by at high speed strafing w/ the photon beam. | 1999-08-12 17:33:25 | 0
Cbzone | games | 1876 | Cbzone | Uh, I'd love to play Battlezone in Linux. And it'd be really nice if this thing didn't rely on non-existent user directories and files. It's a shame, I was looking forward to this one. | 1999-08-12 23:24:11 | 0
NetHack | games | 2051 | NetHack | The Greatest Game of All Time. Nothing past or present can hope to compare with the vast, complex, cheerfully malevoently beast that is Nethack. You will not tame -this- game in merely a month. Or six. Or twelve. Play it for an hour -- just an hour. Testing has demonstrated that Nethack is about as addicitive as crack, and without the beneficial side effects. (: | 1999-08-12 23:31:12 | 0
Snes9X | games | 2107 | Snes9X | This is really /the/ thing for everyone ever owned a SNES and wanted to play the games without being disturbed by his siblings. Or he didn't own one and ever wanted to play the games (You, you, you. This is forbidden :) | 1999-08-13 03:01:10 | 0
GRacer | games | 1958 | GRacer | Good driving simulation ... I like that you can drive off-road, physics are excellent calculated for each wheel ... the F1 car drives somewhat strange ... my P133 gets only 13 fps with RIVA 128 3d acceleration (beta drivers) | 1999-08-13 08:06:31 | 0
Anachronism | games | -1 | Anachronism | I can't rate it 'cause I can't compile it !! What the damm is this header file : /usr/include/gnu/stubs.h ?? and where have you found it to compile your stuff ? ( Unfoudable in the slakware4.0 distrib) sorry | 1999-08-13 09:06:56 | 0
Anachronism | games | 2104 | Anachronism | Needs more explanation about how to compile this program.... Impossible to make on redhat... :-( | 1999-08-13 11:05:26 | 0
Anachronism | games | -1 | Anachronism | Okay, I've got RedHat 6.0 and I think I've got this figured out. You just need to setup some symbolic links for some include files. For example: It looks for a file in /usr/lib/qt/include. This file is actually located in /usr/include/qt. Make a symbolic link in /usr/lib/qt like "ln -s /usr/include/qt include" You will then get an error for a file in /usr/lib/g++. This directory in RH6.0 is actually /usr/lib/g++-2. Make another link. If I can get it all figured out I'll email the guy so maybe he can put it on his website. matt@mail.ltlb.com | 1999-08-13 11:32:59 | 0
Xfreecell | games | 2110 | Xfreecell | For the kind of game it is, it is great. For all the people still using win32 freecell, in my opnion, this one is much better. It compiled very easily. My only complaint, they should have used gtk, or something to make it look much better. | 1999-08-13 12:02:38 | 0
Anachronism | games | -1 | Anachronism | Okay, I have a webpage up with the links you have to create for RedHat 6.0. It is: http://unix.ltlb.com Those are lowercase L's for the ltlb.com not the number 1. matt@unix.ltlb.com | 1999-08-13 12:11:32 | 0
