| 12127 | Battle for Wesnoth | games | 4512 | Very impressive! | This game seems pretty complete! Except that there's various display bugs, especially the way leftover text doesn't get erased (eg- look at some chaotic character, and then look at a lawful one. The text will now say "Lawfulc" because of the c left over from "Chaotic", you see?). <BR>Also, <BR>the <BR>movement <BR>and <BR>scrolling <BR>are <BR>very <BR>very <BR>very <BR>slow. <P>I get the feeling that not nearly enough time was spent on the display code. As the rest of the game seems so very complete (although the figures shown in the combat windows look like they're wrong, but mebbe I misunderstood the rules), it'd be nice to see improvements there. <P>Oh, and finally as it's single player, a "Save" option would be very very nice (especially as it takes so many hours to play). I hope this project keeps going, it's pretty cool already. | 2003-06-21 16:27:57 | 0 |

If it bothers you THAT much, why not take over the project yourself. I am sure you can find the code somewhere </p> <p> And it is spelled Blizzard. </p> | 2003-06-21 16:30:57 | 12124 |

| 12133 | FreeCraft | games | -1 | Re: future downloads? | Look around the search engines and ye may get lukky. I mean not only the game as a tarball, but utilities for the game as well so that you may take the engine and just about rev anything out of it a-la-John Romero. I KNOW that you can do it. Yer a linux head.....that is why you are here in the first place and not in 'Uncle Bill's' hog heaven. You will have to know yer way around c a little bit. As to Blizzard, perhaps they are a little tender about their new alliance/dalliance with EA. Their new WC-III is such a dog and the SPCA is denouncing them for animal insultitude for its being such a putrid and blatant vehicle for enticing young people into devil worship and necrophilia......besides being bloatware. Gone is the old Blizzard feature that allowed network games of up to three players on a single disk. My grandson liked, and still likes, to play WCII this way, and his Dad can join too on the third computer in our house. We are not 'pirates', we are customers and appreciated value recieved for money paid. Unfortunately that is not the way the industry views its customers these days. Your lover, Vivendi and Valenti and company in the Mafia??! seem to lean more to the Al Capone style of marketing these days. ....capeche! | 2003-06-21 16:42:02 | 12120 |

I've personaly put a not-too-old binary version (too bad, only for win32), plus the "media project" in my share folder on k*za. i encourage people doing so, especialy if you got the source. oh, and sorry for my bad english. | 2003-06-21 16:42:44 | 12120 |
| 12135 | FreeCraft | games | -1 | Re: Well now. | Hey, the game is still around on many computers running linux. I mean if a few good users put up a site and it has lots of mirrors in free countries like Russia and Taiwan or the Czech Republic or Croatia, then what is EA and their lap dog Blizzard going to do then, have their servant, the US govt send F-117a'x' Unumpentium UFO's based in Nellis AFB area 41 after them....... at 9000 mph like Tariq Aziz, fmr Iraqi Foreign Misery, said about them in 1991 about them being tracked at that speed in Iraqi radar? | 2003-06-21 16:51:25 | 12100 |
| 12136 | FreeCraft | games | -1 | Re: Coding | Maybe they should use some original names/theme/fonts. Looking at http://happypenguin.org/images/cloneshot.gif you can see several things there are very close to, if not a direct copy. The people behind this should take this as a sign that they are on the right track since Blizzard actually cared to stop it. Now they should get some graphics people and make thier own game. With their own design/theme. | 2003-06-21 16:56:27 | 12130 |
