| 12077 | FreeCraft | games | -1 | Another good reason to join FSF ... | FSF can't fight this crap without money. A membership costs about as much as two new games. later, Andrew. | 2003-06-21 07:46:26 | 0 |
| 12078 | FreeCraft | games | -1 | Re: You can see what they're worried abo | Couldn't free software community invent something new instead of just copying proprietary software? | 2003-06-21 07:47:50 | 12071 |
| 12079 | FreeCraft | games | -1 | Re: You can see what they're worried abo | Spoken just like a money grubbing corporation. Warcraft is from the 90's and is so outdated it's pathetic. So a bunch of guys got together and decided to create a free version of an outdated game without stealing any of your code... and Blizzard is whining WHY? I'll bet that if they had money to fight it, they would have won. I'm never buying a Blizzard product again and you can bet money on that. | 2003-06-21 07:52:07 | 12078 |
| 12080 | FreeCraft | games | -1 | Re: You can see what they're worried abo | Except that Freecraft was really quite a different system. Sure it started off with a pretty warcraft like thinking, but it was different. Question is , will the proprietry heads get new ideas too instead of <insert boring FPS clone v153 here>. stuff blizzard. | 2003-06-21 07:52:47 | 12078 |
| 12081 | FreeCraft | games | -1 | Re: You can see what they're worried abo | Companies like Blizzard 'have' to aggresively stop projects like this that borrow their copyrighted names or material or else they lose the right to it... They probably had nothing against it being a free project - but if they let these guys slide, then their could be a whole outbreak of 'Craft' games and legally, Blizzard could lose the 'Craft' copyright... | 2003-06-21 07:53:21 | 12079 |

I'll <b>never</b> buy ANY Blizzard product even it'll be StarCraft2. Hey, the ones at Blizzard, YOU suck! | 2003-06-21 07:59:51 | 12059 |

An operating system is only as strong as the software community supporting it. Not to mention the public's embracing of it... | 2003-06-21 08:09:52 | 12039 |
| 12084 | FreeCraft | games | -1 | Re: You can see what they're worried abo | You are confusing copyright and patent law. Copyright is guaranteed (in the US, nowadays) for 70 years to an individual author and 90 for corporate works. And the author doesn't have to do anything. The copyright is always in effect. Patents, on the other hand, last 7 years and can be renewed only once for another 7 years. And if the patent owner fails to defend their patent, it is considered invalid. | 2003-06-21 08:14:05 | 12081 |
