FreeCraft | games | -1 | F#CK Blizzard | F#CK Blizzard, buggered if I'll ever buy another game of them.. | 2003-06-20 23:04:36 | 0
FreeCraft | games | 6547 | Re: well hell | FreeWorlds would be my vote for a new name. Of course there would have to be alot of changes made to keep from being "harassed" by Blizzard. But if the FreeCraft developers were maybe looking for a redesign, here's your chance (though it has come in an odd form). | 2003-06-20 23:04:46 | 12042
FreeCraft | games | 7147 | Project Revival | I am currently leading the effort to revive the project, and remove all warcraft2 centric stuff from freecraft, including coming up with a better name. Please join us in #shadowconflict on irc.freenode.net | 2003-06-20 23:41:59 | 0
FreeCraft | games | -1 | goodbye blizzard | I've just taken my Warcraft 3 CD out back and burned it. I'll never touch a blizzard game again. | 2003-06-20 23:50:04 | 0
FreeCraft | games | 6077 | Re: FreeCraft | B/w, we're currently in the process of building a Diablo clone game in the FreeDroidRPG project. Right now we're switching from top-down to isometric viewpoint and start using 16 directions (both of which is currently just in cvs, not in any release). While the similarities are not as strong as in FreeCraft (we'll be using Tux as the main character and a futuristic setting, so that's a difference) I hope we won't encounter similar problems with Blizzard ever. And certainly the idea of having a tool import material from original Blizzard DiabloI/II CD's just has died.... | 2003-06-21 00:01:45 | 12044
FreeCraft | games | 4 | Re: FreeCraft | It's just that Blizzard hates Linux. Why? I don't know. Boycotting them is easy - they never produced any Linux game - and propably never will. To bad Sam Lantinga works there... | 2003-06-21 00:35:24 | 12043
FreeCraft | games | -1 | EFF or FSF help out? | Would either of those organizations be willing to go to bat for this project against Blizzard? There doesn't seem to be any compelling legal reason why Blizzard would be allowed to do this, so getting some experienced counsel on the side of Freecraft (or whatever it may be called) could help. Hell, if Lindows can exist in the same world as Windows, Freecraft and Warcraft should be able to, as well...with a little help from good lawyers. | 2003-06-21 00:41:23 | 0
Neverwinter Nights Client | games | -1 | Re: Holding back my money | Or he just runs a Linux-only machine, as I do. And since we are talking about Linuxgames at this place, it should be natural for at least some of us, to completely renounce using Windows as a gaming platform. BTW I bought 13 Loki games instead of bying a Windows-licence, a much better investment, I you ask me. How much money did you invest in Linux gaming and Linux gaming developement? | 2003-06-21 01:23:22 | 12028
FreeCraft | games | -1 | Re: Project Revival | I really hope you succede. I will probably not buy or recomend games from blizzard again. I had thought that World of Warcraft looked nice, now I would rather play Tic Tac Toe with myself. | 2003-06-21 01:43:38 | 12047
