| 11923 | Avoid the Roid 3D | games | -1 | cool game | Hey this is a very cool game, except that the controls suck bigtime. You can't set the arrow keys for ship control, nor ctrl for fire. It would be cool if this at least worked with a joystick. Keep up the good work! | 2003-06-15 14:06:04 | 0 |
| 11924 | Chromium B.S.U. | games | 8101 | Playing on Windows | I like Linux, but still can't break away from Windows, yet. Chromium is great on Windows and I enjoy it very much. Does my use of the word "Windows" make me a potty mouth? :-) | 2003-06-15 14:30:55 | 0 |

| 11929 | 3782 | news | -1 | Re: ah ah ah | I bet if you would lock away all linux-trolls, windows-trolls, macintosh-trolls and whatever-System-trolls, there wouldn't be a single computer user left... | 2003-06-16 05:33:37 | 11926 |
| 11930 | 3782 | news | -1 | reasons for linux ports? | i think that the main reason a company would port a game to linux is because linux game servers 0wn. seriously, there are loads of potential half life 2 linux servers (which are stabler and faster than windows servers), but a lot of those servers wouldnt run the hl2 server unless they have _all_ the game, not just the server. you know what i mean? it makes business sense for the game company to release a linux port if its a multiplayer game. | 2003-06-16 11:05:36 | 0 |
| 11931 | Protector | games | 7392 | Re: 90 errors - won't compile :( | I compiled it :-)
The problem is: The source has a Windows/DOS LF. I was able to compile it after calling
dos2unix -f *.h *.cpp
in the source directory.
The game is very funny, but gets too difficult after the first levels. So I pached it, to get some more lifes ;-) | 2003-06-16 11:52:18 | 11922 |
| 11932 | America's Army: Special Forces | games | -1 | Off-Topic Anecdote | So long ago, the Australian Air Force was developing its own simulator. The closest thing to a suit they've got in a military tells a programmer to make some kangaroos. The lazy programmer copies a standard infantry grunt and sticks a kangaroo model on it.

Later, some Americans have come to visit. A pilot loads up the simulator to show them, and buzzes a troop of kangaroos with his gunship. The scared kangaroos scatter and the Americans nod, then do a double take as the suddenly heavily armed beasts reappear from behind the hills and launch a barrage of Stinger missiles at the helicopter. | 2003-06-16 13:20:47 | 0 |
