| 11820 | tower toppler | games | -1 | Awesome! | I just finished playing the original for the umpteenth time, and thought I'd look it up on the internet. Then I found this game...with extra levels!!! The towers work exactly the same way as they used to, it's a really good job! Great work on the graphics, and the water looks and sounds good too. Taking a classic game, and fixing it up without changing the gameplay, brilliant idea! I only wish there were more levels! Cos I can never get enough lol. The 4 extra tower missions were created really well. Are there any more? I mean, there is a level editor, maybe there are 50 more out there somewhere hehe. I appreciate all the effort that has been put into this, thanks! | 2003-06-08 15:56:43 | 0 |

| 11823 | The Bub's Brothers | games | 4512 | Darnit | I go years wanting a Bubble Bobble clone... and then one finally comes along, and it requires a newer version of Python than what I have installed :( <P>If I can figure out whether Debian can have V2.2 installed alongside V2.1, or alternatively, if V2.2 can totally replace 2.1 without upsetting anything else, then I'll prolly do so, as I've seen other cool-sounding stuff that needs Python 2.2 as well. Really wish people would put less bleeding-edge dependencies on their games. <P>Also it looks like this is a bit of a twist on the original theme, and I think I'd prefer the one-or-two players cooperating against the monsters to clear as many levels as possible rather than lots of players playing purely for points (with infinite lives apparently?). Still, I'd like to give it a go. <P>Alternatively, Blacksheep started a skeletal BB clone in C++ that he announced in the forums ("Bubble Bobble engine", under General Discussion forum), which needs someone to take over (he doesn't have the time, and no, I can't). | 2003-06-08 19:25:24 | 0 |
| 11824 | The Bub's Brothers | games | 6879 | Re: Darnit | apt-get install python2.2 Run the game with python2.2 rather than just plain python. It should work (least, I've got python 2.1 and 2.2. coexisting nicely on my lug's server). Python 2.2 isn't really bleeding edge, 2.2.1 is more than a year old. It's just your stable debian install that's ancient :P. | 2003-06-08 21:45:45 | 11823 |
