Columns games -1 Columns I think its a pretty good game, but I always did like the orginal GG and Genesis ones. My only problem is that it's in the public domain! Why? Especially when we have the GPL? I mean, geez, protect your software. 1999-08-05 18:57:29 0
Myth II: Soulblighter demo games 2065 Myth II: Soulblighte Ran wonderfully under RH6.0 on my Celery 333. Excellant game, definitely will buy when it becomes available. ::smack:: Thats the sound of another nail being driven into MS's Coffin. 1999-08-05 21:32:39 0
Craft games 1876 Craft A fun clone of Warcraft (which I am a pretty big fan of). I'd have given it five stars, except for three things: 1) The graphics are kinda mediocre, 2) It is a bit clunky, and 3) There's no real innovation here. Number 3 is the key point: this game will go far if it enhances the existing formula. But all in all, a fun little time waster. 1999-08-05 22:58:11 0
Myth II: Soulblighter demo games -1 Myth II: Soulblighte Ran fine on my RH 5.2 machine, haven't tried full screen mode yet though. A friend's SuSE 6 machine said "Blam" until we blew away some Netscapes. Memory allocation message perhaps? 1999-08-06 04:54:16 0
Tux the Penguin - A Quest for Herring games -1 Tux the Penguin - A Uuu... I think it's bad that you have to download all thoose files. You should atleast make one big tar file and put it on your page so you don't have to jump to all thoose pages. 1999-08-06 09:37:12 0
NetHack games -1 NetHack Not as good as ADOM, but nevertheless ok. The dev-team should wake up and do something. 1999-08-06 09:54:56 0
Tux the Penguin - A Quest for Herring games 1884 Tux the Penguin - A Game looks very beauty, and it's fast, but I can only move penguin with mouse or joystick - and I don't have joystick I think authors should put keyboard control... it will be much more playable 1999-08-06 10:53:39 0
Angband games 2071 Angband I've spent hours and hours with the game; because the game-play is that great. Morgoth beware, I'm coming to get you! 1999-08-06 15:36:52 0
Columns games -1 Columns Fun game. About the only thing missing is some background music (shouldn't be too hard with libmikmod...) 1999-08-06 16:51:11 0
ClanBomber games 971 ClanBomber Well, if people are going to reply to me.. :-/ ClanBomber being a multiplayer game doesn't help when there is no network play and only two sets of keyboard controls (and especially given how awful x86 keyboards are..). I also think that providing AI players really is a Good Thing[tm]. I know you can change the timelimit -- I was saying that if you make larger levels (as per my feature suggestion) the timelimit should be higher for those levels by default, just because it'll take longer for the players to find one another. The game is indeed too slow. I remember playing games with more graphical complexity on a 386; while I don't expect you folks to write hand-optimized assembler, the thing is painfully choppy on a Pentium/166 with 48 MB of memory and an accelerated X server. (I can play it fine on an AMD K6/350 on any display target) And finally -- there is just not enough to the game. XBlast gets around some of the limitations of the format by having weird special weapons and environmental effects. I think that there's still room for improvement over XBlast: larger, scrolling levels, more variety of items...
The game isn't finished. That's not a crime, but I think that people should be aware of that, since it does seriously impact gameplay. It looks like the basic architecture is mostly finished; hopefully it's flexible enough to allow you to easily add more features.
Daniel 1999-08-06 17:09:03 0
