| 11529 | Xmame | games | -1 | Four little nits | 1. Cpu load is strange. Xmame's normal behavior is to burn 100% load, but sometimes after pausing/unpausing, it may drop the CPU load to a sane level.
2. Is there a way to make a button simulate the reload (shoot off screen) for a gun game?
3. The manpage is seriously borken, if my toolchain doesn't decieve me.
4. Scale4x!!!

Still, Xmame can't be beat. I have a diskless PC with ethernet, Voodoo3 and an X-arcade stick hooked as my game console. | 2003-05-23 19:43:20 | 0 |
| 11530 | 3706 | news | -1 | Offline gaming? | Can it be played offline? If it's the same as the Windows version, then you gotta sign into the game each time with your online handle. This really sucks. | 2003-05-23 21:09:30 | 0 |

It costs you nothing other than a little time. More importantly, the authors may develop his skills over time and produce something that will really make people sit up. He won't develop those skills if the response to a simpler project is negative. | 2003-05-24 00:07:03 | 11509 |

Although I think that games ported to Linux run at a great speed, I know that it usually doesn't really run any better than the Windoze versions... Well, maybe nwn runs a bit faster but that depends on how you setup your linux box... You can setup Windoze so that it runs at a great speed, too... But I seriously hate these posts that imply that this or that game runs at twice the speed in Linux... I'm delighted that the games I like are getting ported to my favorite OS, but come on you people... You don't have to exaggerate your linux gaming experiences... Cheers go out to the linux gaming community... And for all the linux gamers: Keep it real ;o)

* DK_Skovbaer * | 2003-05-24 08:03:14 | 11528 |
