11296 3699 news -1 nice Hmmm, some of them were very cool, but most of them were just rehash of the same crappy stuff. I must say I've had a lot of hesitation between this one and this one. The first one looks cool overall and could be applied anywhere. The second one, while less "versatile" (it needs a clear background...) looks simple enough yet catches the eyes. 2003-05-12 15:02:21 0

11299 DOSbox games -1 dosemu This thing is cool. Runs most of my old DOS games. I couldn't get dosemu to run on my Debian. It crashes for some reason. Maybe the grsecurity kernel? I have been running those games in Bochs which gives you a very small screen. Dosbox runs them flawlessly. It's also trivial to install. So stop saying doesemu is far superior blah blah -- it is -- but it's not specially made for games and it doesn't run fine on everybody's box. 2003-05-12 21:45:14 0
11300 3699 news -1 Re: nice If you would know your way around the graphics department, you would know that Gimp is image manipulation and retouching software, and there are no alternatives (XPaint??). So until somebody cranks out an application that has animation integrated, hopefully with onion skin, and support for real palette editing and colour spreading, an artist is limited by the features of gimp, thus having to invent his own techniques to go around the limitations. This is the reality, and I'm sorry, it is true. Hopefully, somebody has a hidden project which should be reveiled soon. PublicPaint sounds nice, but it doesn't recognize mice properly yet. 2003-05-12 23:19:03 11292
