11224 Dark Places games -1 Re: activating shaders Hmmm... on my computer they were activated by default...
If they're not, go to the console and play around with the cvars. Type in "cvarlist" at the console for a full list of variables. You might want to check out those starting with "r_" first ("r" for "renderer")
I think the "r_shadow_XXX" variables will do the trick for you. 2003-05-10 13:34:24 11221
11227 3687 news -1 Re: Here you go. Maybe I should have been more specific, but I have a AIW Radeon 7200. The drivers that you pointed me to are only for 8500's and up. Thanks for replying anyways. Now I'm trying to compile the DRI drivers from cvs on SuSE 8.2. It's proving to be a very fun exercise in futility. 2003-05-10 14:28:04 11202
11228 Molecule Man games 4512 Re: Run the game FWIW, I'll point out that configure scripts are mostly just there to fill in your system details into a makefile. You can have makefiles without configure scripts, and make existed for ages before autoconf appeared. As for Make, although C and C++ projects almost always use make, and many other languages can make use of it, it is really just a very neat automation tool that runs your compiler based on what things have changed since you last ran it.
It sounds as though this project, being written in Delphi (this is like Pascal, isn't it??) uses a Delphi specific project file that serves a similar purpose to a makefile.
Hmm, if I ever get around to installing this Kylix thing, this game might be a good excuse to do so! Looks reminiscent of Sweevo's World and all those old games I used to play, mmm... And by the game's original author, it seems! If it were done in a language I already had on my machine, I'd be trying it already. 2003-05-10 14:51:49 11211
11229 ptennis games -1 ptennis Not playable, sorry. Also, nobody's going to buy a pong game, so you might just as well make it free. 2003-05-10 15:16:31 0

11233 Orbz games 5360 Excellent Despite relatively simple gameplay, this is one hell of a game. In a multiplayer game, very close scores can be as intense as any shooter, and you get a great sense of accomplishment when you make some harder shots.

The only thing that's missing is a level editor, which is why it only gets four stars. If it had a level editor, this would easily be one of the best games available, and even without it, at only $20 it's a steal. 2003-05-10 16:12:23 0
11234 Bunnies games 7033 Re: honestly You see, when there is an open source clone of a commercial game, the appeal is that it's free...

When there is a commercial clone of a free game... it seems somewhat pointless...
It's more like they're making money off of some idea that someone had, who was prepaired to give it away for free. 2003-05-10 16:54:18 6341
11235 ThinkTanks games 6732 Addictive This game has made me drop almost all the RTCW activity i had... the multiplayer game is very addictive. It has 4 modes (CTF-like and battle, with team or solo variants) which can be played against humans or AI or both.
It's simple, fun and beatiful for it's price and size (20Mb download). 2003-05-10 17:28:57 0
